I had the great pleasure of meeting this mom on a trip to Vegas almost two years ago and then got the opportunity to shoot her family a few months later. I love working with them. One of the main reasons is that the children seem to be very comfortable with me. Now this is not something that is novel but in this particular case Mom had mentioned prior to the first shoot that the twins were quite shy and that she was not certain as to how it would go. Well we had a blast at the first session. Now a year later and a new addition, we had even more fun. The twins warmed up quickly and we were able to capture the little one's rolls!!! We also got to capture the closeness of their family which is really awesome to be a part of! Thanks S - it is truly a treat working with your family!!! More to come soon.

I have managed to complete another cleanse successfully. Jeans are feeling better! Last week was also my first week back to FITMOM and it again became clear that I had let things go. Walking up the stairs was pretty difficult for a few days. Oh well, back on track now!

I have a little sneak peek for a family that I shot last week. I will not get their gallery up until next week but wanted to post a few. There were so many gorgeous shots - the shot where the little one is holding dad's thumb will go down as a favourite of mine!
I am happy to say that I have a friend coming in next week to help me with some of the admin work that I am behind on - THANK GOODNESS for awesome friends! This should help me to get things back on track so I can completely focus on my art (more importantly, your art)! I am still working on pieces from fall shoots that have been put on hold.

Thursday already...it has been a busy week! I have been working through the accounting this week (at least trying to). You would think that this would be a simple task for an ex-CMA. I have 11 years of this experience...it use to be fun (really!). I have definitely changed my tune!! I have had to keep my Mac shut down for most of this week so that I could get through this stuff. Anyway, I am getting through it so that I can get back to the FUN part of my job. I did take a little break to work on a few pictures for a client that I shot last week. I know that I will have to share some more once I get through all of them - we had a ton of fun action shots. I also played with some textures this time. This is not something that I typically use as I really like a clean look however, there was one image that I really wanted to "warm" up so that the focus was on the relationship. More soon!

I finally had the opportunity yesterday to download my pictures from Christmas - bad mom! We started a tradition last year to decorate a gingerbread house on Christmas Eve (an idea taken from a friend). It was a lot of fun this year...we had 3 engineers, a lawyer, an accountant and a commercial realtor involved in the project...not much my children could do beyond eat the candies! This is Anna's first experience with this tradition as she was napping last year. She absolutely loved it!! I will continue going through the pics to find some of Aidan. He is much more detailed and concentrated on the project (future engineer??).

I was going to be blogging some pictures this afternoon anyway, however I did not want to have this story go with the pictures that I will be sharing in the next post.

In an attempt to flush all of the Sophie's Pizza and red wine from my system, I have decided to do the Wild Rose Cleanse again! Okay, it is also an attempt to make my jeans feel a bit more comfortable again! The few months of limited activity beyond work have caught up with me! I am off to a good start with a couple of rounds of hot yoga, signing back up for Fitmom and getting out for a bunch of walks and sledding with the kids. I don't have any great pictures of the sledding experiences (the first day I was just frantically trying to get out the door to meet friends and I forgot the camera and the second round, the little one came with us and did not want to be put down), however I have documented the road rash! A started the second trip off with sliding down on his face - happy to say, that it did not set him back for long. I took the opportunity to document this wound with a little playing in the studio (I have had a strip light that I have been dying to try for awhile!). I love this light so I am sure you will see a lot more with it soon. Anyway, here are some of the pictures!
