Cutest couple!

These guys may go down as one of the cutest couples that I have shot to date!  They were absolutely adorable together despite being a bit nervous.  I had a blast with them and can't even wait for the newborn session!  I had to shoot this little series...mom-to-be was a bit concerned as to what her husband was doing...so cute!

Tot Shots Social Series

As I mentioned in previous posts I have been working on some extra projects this year.  I finally have the details on one of them and the emails have gone out...hopefully to all my clients but I am transitioning to a new CRM system...let me know if you did not get a note and would like to attend or be on the list for the next session.

Anyway, I have decided to use my new studio space to help other entrepreneurs and to provide useful information in the areas of health and wellness to my clients.  The first session will take place next Wednesday evening and will feature 'Going Green for Parents' by Kerry Kaufman.  I attended one of Kerry's sessions last year through one of my clients and was blown away by the information.  With all of the "green" information out there it is really difficult to sort through it all and make the right decisions for your family.  Kerry was able to summarize a load of information and make it a little bit easier to digest.  I also realized that I have access to a great network of people and can offer the venue to pass on some of this great information.  I have been really fortunate over the last 4 years to come in contact with an amazing network of clients and entrepreneurs and hopefully I can help some of them as they have helped me.

This complimentary event will be held next Wednesday, March 4th from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the Tot Shots Studio.  Space is limited and must be reserved in advance.  Spaces are filling up quickly but if you are a client and would like to attend please send me an email.  Of course, yummy refreshments will be served.

Common theme

...running through this session!!  This family was so loving and cuddly - love that!  And a tooth had just fallen out - love that too!  This was a fantastic session and I am so glad that we were able to get out before the weather turned.  R, lots more to come!  I had a blast working with your family!  

We have created a monster!

Yep, it is true!  It seems my husband and I's love for music has rubbed off on our daughter!  Miss A has become infatuated with Chris Martin (the lead singer of Coldplay).  Are 2 1/2 year olds allowed to have crushes?  It all began with playing the Coldplay repeatedly in the car (my children do not get the typical children's CD selection in my car - Nickleback, Rob Thomas, Pink (yes, I know bad mom!) and Nelly Furtado have trumped Raffi!).  Anyway, I then proceeded to show her Coldplay's performance on the Grammy's.  Well now this is all she wants to watch!  It is all we can listen to in the car.  However, it has definitely resulted in some great dance parties after dinner!  Seriously, I wonder where she gets this stuff!  We are definitely in trouble!!!!

On a business note...I had a fabulous weekend of shooting.  I don't know if it was the families that I got to work with, the inspiration in Vegas or a combination but the sessions will go down as favourites.  More soon...

Sin City

I have returned from Sin City and jumped right back into the swing of things.  I had an awesome trip that was surprising productive (definitely not a word I thought I would ever use to describe Vegas) and totally inspiring.  I got the opportunity to meet a ton of amazing photographers and a bit of downtime for myself.  It was great.  I have a ton of things in the works from prior to my trip and, of course, now have a ton more ideas.  I am so looking forward to the upcoming months!!!  

Here are a few of the pictures from the trip...I did not end up taking quite as many as I thought that I would.  I am thankful for this though as I am still working through proofing sessions from prior to the trip - I had to focus on my children for the last couple of days.  Came home to little ones that missed me a ton!!  Nice to be home!

Playing around with my lensbaby...a palm tree always makes it feel like you are somewhere warm.  Unfortunately this was not the case.  We were dressed in winter jackets most of the time.

Vegas bound

I am departing for Vegas tomorrow morning until late next Wednesday to attend the WPPI trade show.  I am sure to return with lots of fun, new ideas!!!  

I did not want to depart without posting a little sneak peek for a family that I worked with last week.  It was a pleasure working with this one week old, her parents and grandmothers.  I apologize that there will be a delay in getting more pictures to you.

Vanity Spa

I felt INCREDIBLY guilty today as I enjoyed my birthday gift (yes, my birthday was in December so I should not feel that bad).  I only felt guilt for the first half hour or so, then what could I do besides just relax.  I enjoyed a wonderful visit to Vanity Spa in Garrison Woods with Kristi.  I had not been there before (although I am not exactly a spa connoisseur)...it was fantastic!!!  It was so quaint and Kristi was a perfectionist (love that!!).  I had to put in a little plug for her as promoting other entrepreneurs will be a bit of a "side" project for me this year.  I will have more details on this in the upcoming weeks (sorry to be a bit vague, still working out all of the details).  

Anyway, back to work...I have been working on some custom birth announcements this week and loved this shot that I was using on it.  Will have more recent photos tomorrow from a session with a week old newborn - gorgeous!

Boys will be comin' a knockin'

And my son will be one of them!  Yep, another neighbour.  I have shot this family a number of times over the years and they have recently become our neighbours again (we lived beside them in our first house).  They have just had their third girl and she is as beautiful as the other two!  Oh M and J, you are in trouble!   

I wish that I had noticed that I was being given the finger at the time of this shot!

This is a shot that has been done of each of the girls...hard work paid off J.  No photoshopping required!

2 month old

This is another one of my Bellies and Babies packages.  They waited a little bit to get the baby pictures - life has been a bit busy as they have recently become my neighbour.  It was awesome to finally meet the little one.  She is gorgeous!!  She even had a little cat nap a few minutes into the session to get some peaceful sleeping pictures.  We were also trying to get an over the shoulder shot at the end and the outtakes made me laugh!  Lots more to come.

Tough day

It has been a tough day as it is the second anniversary of my mum's passing.  There has been a lot of spontaneous leaking!  I wanted to blog to highlight the project that I started a year ago that made a world of difference for my grieving process.  The two sessions that I did last year as part of my "Give of Yourself" project (details on my website) were amazing...yes, incredibly hard but knowing that I was able to give something that I feel is important to other families was awesome - highlights of my year.  I wanted to make a note that this project is a continuous offering to my clients and their friends and family.  I hope that you never have to use it but I am here if you do.
